Ramadan 1442

The messenger of Allah (s) addressed his companions on the last day of Sha'baan, saying, "Oh people! A great month has come over you; a blessed month, a month in which is a night better than a thousand months; month in which Allah has made it compulsory upon you to fast by day, and voluntary to pray by night. Whoever draws nearer (to Allah) by performing any of the (optional) good deeds in (this month) shall receive the same reward as performing an obligatory deed at any other time, and whoever discharges an obligatory deed in (this month) shall receive the reward of performing seventy obligations at any other time. It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Heaven. It is the month of charity, and a month in which believer's sustenance is increased. Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast, shall have his sins forgiven, and he will be saved from the Fire of Hell, and he shall have the same reward as the fasting person, without his reward being diminished at all."

Purification of the Heart - Praiseworthy Spiritual Qualities
Daily After 'Asr (6:30 PM) at MCCGP or livestreamed on YouTube
By the grace of Allah, last Ramadan we covered the first half of Shaykh Muhammad Mawlud’s Mathara al-Qulub (Purification of the Heart), an important poetic summary of the science of Ihsan, or spiritual purification.
The first half of the text focuses on the diseases of the heart: their definitions, causes, and cures. And this Ramadan, Allah willing, we aim to study the second half of this work, which focuses on:
The importance of Dhikr (Remembrance ofAllah) as a means of spiritual purification, the types and etiquette of Dhikr and how to establish a routine of Dhikr in one's life.
Contemplation, reflection, and self-assessment as means of spiritual purification.
The praiseworthy spiritual qualities such as repentance (tawba), gratitude (shukr), fortitude (sabr),contentment (rida), love (hubb), fear (khawf), hope (raja’),trust (tawakkul), and more - their definitions, their virtues, and how to acquire them.
How to understand the passing thoughts (khawatir) that cross our minds and how to distinguish between what is from us and what is from other sources, and how to respond accordingly.· The nature of the self/ego (nafs) and how to build spiritual discipline.
Making sense of spiritual states that come and go.
Join us at MCCGP every evening during Ramadan after 'Asr (6:30 PM) or watch the livestream on our YouTube channel as Imam Abdul Aziz Suraqah covers part two of Shaykh Muhammad Mawlud's Mathara al-Qulub, discussing the praiseworthy spiritual qualities that Allah enjoins us to cultivate in our lives.

Here is the text in Arabic and English that you can download and follow along.
