The Fiqh Council of North America, has announced the beginning of Ramadan for the year 1440 AH, to be Monday May 6, 2019, inshaAllah. 

MCCGP will host daily and weekend Iftars at the Masjid.

All Iftars are sponsored through the generosity of community members like you.

Sponsorship is open for various days. Full sponsorship for Monday through Thursday is $1200; half is $600. Full sponsorship for Friday & Sunday is $1500; half is $750. You can donate as much as you can for any day of your choice.

MCCGP will host its annual Ramadan Fundraiser Saturday May 11, 2019 (Ramadan 6, 1440). It is through your generous givings and loving support that the center is able to sustain itself and provide year-round activities and services. We look forward for your participation in fullest on that day and throughout Ramadan. As Allah (swt), the exalted, said in Al-Quran, chapter 2, Ayah 261: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed (of grain) which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies (His rewards) for whom He wills. And Allah is all-encompassing and knowing."

Here is a list of programs and key dates for Ramadan:


Daily Taraweeh Prayers with Imam Abdur Rahman
Imam Abdur Rahman will lead daily Taraweeh Prayers after Isha. Taraweeh Prayers will be 20 Raka’at with a short break after the 8th Raka. The Khatmul-Qur’an will be on the night of 27th (Friday May 31) insha’Allah

Tahaj’jud Prayers – Every Fri & Sat Night + Last 10 nights of Ramadan
Tahaj’jud prayers will be led by Imam Abdur Rahman. An extra Khatmul-Qur’an will be made during these prayers. The prayers will start hour and a half before Suhoor

Join us before the Isha prayer each night during Ramadan as we explore the ethical dimensions of each segment of the Quran being recited each night.

Fellowship of Faiths – MCCGP Interfaith Iftar: Sunday June 2, 2019

​Lastly, MCCGP will host a few organizations that will raise funds for various humanitarian, charitable and educational causes. A list of those is as follows:

  • Friday May 17 (after Juma): Universal Academy of Pittsburgh, the only full-time Islamic School in the greater Pittsburgh region
  • Wednesday May 22 (Evening Iftar): Mercy Without Limits
  • Friday May 24 (Evening Iftar): Syrian American Medical Society will raise funds for sick and wounded in Syria

We pray that this Ramadan unites all of us in the worship of our creator and is a harbinger of peace and tranquility in our lives. Ameen!
