Masajid (Mosques) will also be able to redirect your requests to other Masajid (Mosques) that might be better equipped to handle your particular needs.

Restland Cemetery:
- Located a few miles from the MCCGP in Monroeville (eastern suburb of Pittsburgh). Address: 990 Patton Street Extension, Monroeville, PA 15146
- It has a separate Muslim section.
- The burial is compliant with the rules of the traditional Islamic burial (the body is directly interned in the ground).
- Requires authorization from MCCGP. There is some paperwork needed from the relatives of the deceased. The cost of the burial plot is $1,000 payable to MCCGP.
- Cost of opening and closing the grave is extra and payable to "Restland Memorial Park"

Homewood Cemetery:
- Located in Point Breeze bordering Frick Park in the neighborhood of Squirrel Hill.
- It has a separate Muslim section.
- Requires the body to be enclosed in the casket.
- Requires authorization from Muslim Cemetery Association (MCA).

STEPS TO TAKE
- Contact your local Masjid first. They will guide you through the process and will hook you up with the funeral home.
- Funeral home will typically claim the body from the hospital.
- The ones listed above are equipped to handle Muslim rituals of Ghusl (ablution) and other associated requirements
- Let the funeral home know that it is a Muslim burial.
- Let the Masjid know when and where you want the Janazah (Funeral Prayer) and burial.
- For burial at Restland Cemetery, contact MCCGP:

- $1,000 for the burial plot payable to MCCGP
- They'll provide assistance in Ghusl (Washing)
- They'll arrange for the Kafan (Shroud). Note that there are different requirements for kafan for males and females
- They'll get you in touch with the cemetery and guide you throughout this process.
- Financial assistance is available for those in need (Established proof of need is required).
- For burial at Homewood Cemetery, contact them directly:
- The Homewood Cemetery handles the payment to MCA. Cash/Checks/Money Order are accepted forms of payments
- The cost for the burial plot is $1100 payable to MCA
- Additional Cemetery costs are as follows: Vault ($995), setup ($150), document fee ($85). Total: $2,625
- Caskets can be purchased from the funeral home; there is no requirement from the cemetery for any specific casket
- Monuments/Headstones are purchased separately and can be arranged with the cemetery at any time before or after the burial
- Burials on Sundays are possible but not always guaranteed

- The following steps are needed if you choose to bury the deceased at the Homewood Cemetery
- Contact any Masjid (Mosque)/Islamic Center mentioned at the top of this page to:
- Obtain Kafan (Shroud). Typically the Kafan (either male or female) is available for purchase for $50.
- Arrange for someone to provide Ghusl (ablution) to the deceased and prepare them for burial
- Schedule a Janazah (Funeral prayer) for the deceased. Mosques have the capability to quickly reach out to the Muslim community in the area.
