Nikah (Islamic Marriage) Service
MCCGP provides Nikah (marriage) services for all Muslim men and women. We ask that you read and abide by the following when you seek your Nikah to be performed by MCCGP:
Please be advised that the procedures and requirements above (and the attached Marriage Policy) apply to all and under no circumstances can a Nikah be documented without a marriage license or record.

- The bride and bridegroom must be Muslims.
- The couple must obtain a marriage license/record from their county of residence prior to the Nikah (Marriage ceremony). Each county has its own department where a license and record can be obtained. If you are a resident of Allegheny county, a marriage license/record can be obtained from: Department of Court Records, Wills/Orphans' Court Division, Marriage License Bureau, 414 Grant Street, 1st Floor, City-County Building, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or go to https://www.alleghenycounty.us/court-records/wills/marriage-license.aspx
- The couple should schedule an appointment in advance of their Nikah, with MCCGP imam. For appointments, please email [email protected] or call 412-373-0101 (if you get the answering machine, please leave a message stating the purpose and proposed date of Nikah along with your contact information).
- Before the Nikah, the couple may be required to attend up to three premarital counseling sessions. The will be determined by the Imam after speaking with the couple.
- All issues, reservations, conditions of the marriage, including the amount of dowry (mahr) need to be discussed prior to the Nikah.
- The bride, bridegroom and two witnesses (Muslim males) must be presented for the Nikah and have valid photo IDs on them.
